Intro to Yoga

Are you curious about yoga, but nervous to jump head first into a class without knowing what to expect?  Trying new things can be scary, but in the right environment it can also be a lot of fun!  This class will give you plenty of space to ask questions and troubleshoot in a supportive community setting, so that you will feel confident attending yoga classes in the future.  If you are a seasoned yogi looking to dive back into the details and maybe even gain a fresh perspective on your practice, this class is for you too.  You can attend once, or come back several times--every time will be a little different!  This class is included in the Adventure Rock membership.  This is an adult yoga class and is for students 13 and up only.

Queer/Trans Yoga

This class will take place before Queer Climbing.  The intention of this group is to invite people who identify as queer and/or transgender to practice in a space that is safe for all people and all bodies.  The instructor is a part of the queer and trans community and facilitates a trauma informed practice.  Everyone will be invited to introduce themselves and the instructor will give an introduction to the practice of yoga.  We will flow through a series of gentle and activating postures before closing with a guided relaxation exercise.  All levels are welcome and beginners are encouraged to attend. No physical touch will be given in class.

Meditation Group w/ Elias

Meditation is experienced in a variety of ways and it can look a little bit different for everyone. There is a common misconception about meditation that peacefulness is achieved when a person is sitting still in silence. This misconception can often lead many people to believe that they are 'doing it wrong' when their own experience differs from this idea. The truth is, we can all do it, and you're probably already doing it throughout your day without even noticing! Sometimes meditation is certainly peaceful, and other times it is uncomfortable. We can learn to be with what arises. Meditation can be a formal practice that develops over time and is well sustained with both intention from an individual and guidance from others.

This class is intended to open space for individuals to explore or develop their own meditation practice within a group setting. It is the facilitator's intent to help build a supportive community by getting to know one another and sharing our thoughts and ideas. Everyone will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their own curiosity about or experience with meditation. The facilitator will invite members to share their practices as well as offer guidance and education around a variety of supplementary meditation techniques. We will share a collective practice each class and there will be time for reflection together to talk about how to integrate our practices into our daily lives. This class is trans and queer facilitated and it is a safe space for everyone. If you have interest in starting or maintaining a meditative practice, please feel free to join us! All levels are welcome.
